GonidakiF

Role in the project: Dimitra Gonidaki is responsible for the system level and thermodynamic cycle analyses.

Brief Biography: Dimitra Gonidaki is a Mechanical Engineer graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (GPA: 8.14/10), and a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Attica. Her diploma thesis focused on the “Application of a Trombe wall for residential building heating” while her doctoral dissertation, titled “Investigation of advanced thermodynamic cycles for optimal utilization of renewable and alternative heat sources” focuses on the evaluation of thermodynamic power generation cycles, with emphasis on the Organic Rankine Cycle, and High temperature heat pumps. Her research aims at the efficient utilization of thermal renewable energy sources, enhanced energy production, and contribution to the electrification of the industrial sector. Her research activity includes collaborations with the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In this context, she participates in six (6) European research projects (FLEXnCONFU, RINNO, REHOUSE, RESPONSE, ECOFACT, TECHUPGRADE), focusing on the modeling of energy systems for building and industrial applications. Her research work includes seventeen (17) publications in reputable international scientific journals, as well as seven (7) publications in national and international conferences. At the same time, she is an active member of the ASHRAE student chapter at the University of West Attica, participating in activities related to the energy efficiency of buildings and HVAC systems. She also contributes as a teaching assistant in university courses such as “Thermodynamics,” “Heat Transfer,” and “Fluid Mechanics,” as well as in grading and supervising student assignments.
