Role in the project: Professor Christos Tzivanidis is the principal investigator of the project. He is responsible for supervising the progress of the project and the credibility and value of the project results and outcomes.

Brief Biography: Dr. Christos Tzivanidis is a graduate Mechanical Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), from which he also received his PhD degree from the School of Mechanical Engineering in 2001. His doctoral research focused on Transient Radiative Heat Transfer in Air-Conditioning Systems. From 2001 to 2002, Dr. Tzivanidis worked at the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) in the Department of Solar Thermal Systems. Subsequently, and until 2004, he worked in the Procurement Department of the Ministry of Development, where he was responsible for vehicle technical specifications. Today, Dr. Tzivanidis is a Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering of NTUA. He is also previous years he served as Director of the Heat Transfer Sector. He has authored more than 230 publications (h-index = 63) in scientific journals on topics related to Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Solar Energy, and the Thermal Performance of Buildings. He is the Director of the “Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Solar Energy” Laboratory, which has extensive experience in energy conservation and the integration of renewable energy sources in buildings.  From 2019 to 2025, he has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in terms of impact in their respective fields, according to the annual list published by Elsevier BV & Stanford University. Currently, he serves as Scientific Coordinator for NTUA in four European research projects, as well as in one national research project.
